New Delhi: Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath, who pioneered the BJP campaign in the state, will oppose the election of upcoming assembly from the Gorakhpur (urban) chair.
This was announced by Dharmendra Dharmendra Narmendra BJP when the party released the first list of candidates for the first phase and both elections in the state.
Deputy Chairperson of Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya will oppose the selection of Siratu in Prayagraj.
Polling Assembly Live Blogt BJP announces the name 107 candidates.
In the first list, more than 60 percent of the names come from the OBC and SC categories.
Of the 107 names announced, 63 was sitting MLA while 20 had fallen.
There are 10 female candidates.
Voting at Gorakhpur will be held in the sixth phase on March 3 while Sirathu will go to the poll on February 27.
Previously, there was speculation that BJP could involve Yogi Adyityath from the town of Ayodhya or Mathura.
However, He BJP finally decided to involve him from Gorakhpur, who had become a fortress of the ministerial head.
BJP, which has been stung by the exodus of several leading OBC leaders has tried to counter the negative impact by providing tickets to as many as 44 candidates from the public in the first list.
