Assessing Milkha Singh: Kenneth Powell goes down the Memory lane

BENGALURU: Former national sprint champion and Olympian Kenneth Powell, that coached and collaborated with the mythical Milkha Singh remembered the seven-week camp in the Sree Kanteerava stadium in Bangalore in 1962 with special fondness in which the’Flying Sikh’ revealed his class and devotion despite being in the very best of shape.

“The Federation had arranged a seven-week camp beneath American Culbreath, 400m hurdles bronze, 1956 Games.

We conducted distances such as 500 and 600m, followed by a 300m in our own using 10-minute breaks.

From the 100m finals, ” he clocked 10.4 moments but it wasn’t recognized since it was wind helped.
