Coimbatore: The Federation of Coimbatore Industry Associations (Focia) asked the state government to free the micro industry so as not to provide ISO certification must be a 25% subsidy for purchasing machines.
During the meeting on Monday, all 19 industrial associations, which were part of Focia, decided that they would approach the state government regarding this issue.
The Federation also plans to announce agitation that pays attention to the state government for the right steps to reduce increased costs from raw materials.
Focia J James coordinator said the companies to the RS 1 Crore Turnover referred to as the micro industry were given a subsidy of 25% for the purchase of machines.
But lately, the micro unit was asked to provide ISO certification to claim subsidies.
While most units operate from smaller space and do not have ISO certification, they will be forced to spend more on machines, if they are rejected by subsidies.
To save these advisers from causing losses, the state government must intervene, he said.
James said about a 100% increase in the cost of raw materials in the past 12 months has forced the industry to reduce their production.
Advisers who depend on this industry for job work are in trouble.
Unless there are steps from the government to regulate input costs, the market may not be stable leading to the close of micro units.
