Pune: A total of 18.80 beneficiaries of the Lakh received the first dose and both Covid-19 vaccines in August in Pune District.
This is the highest monthly vaccination rate recorded by the District Health Office.
Previously, July held a record for the highest vaccination with 17.81 doses of lakh given throughout government and personal sites.
According to the Ministry of Health officials, the number will be much higher to have a vaccine supply in the first half of August more consistent.
An official from the Ministry of Health said that the second half of August included a mega vaccination drive and gave a very necessary encouragement for the district.
Drive was held on August 31 and benefited around 2.58 Lakh beneficiaries, most of the countryside in Pune District.
Sanjay Patil, Chairman of the IMA Hospital Board in India, said, “The Ministry of Health and Administratively must set a 20-lakh vaccination target, per month to cover all populations that meet the most early districts.
The only problem we strive is the consistency of vaccine availability .
If we can overcome the availability of vaccines, the numbers of Pune will be the highest in the state.
“Sanjay Deshmukh, assistant director (medical), Pune Circle, previously said that the district tended to get around 20 doses of lakh covishield and covaxin on the month September.
Thus, coupled with private vaccination efforts, August figures can be easily exceeded.
Meanwhile, 19,176 beneficiaries were vaccinated on Sunday.
According to the District Immunization Office, new stocks of Covishield and Covaxin will be available on Monday.
