AizAwl: Mizoram recorded 2,531 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, which is a one-day surge in the highest to date, and also reported the highest daily Caseload among eight northeastern states.
The positive level of the test (TPR) was also very high at 31.1%, even when the fast antigen test results from the Northeast Khawzawl and the South Lawngtlai District were not included among new cases, officials said.
The recovery rate was 92.36%, the lowest among northeastern countries, until 5 pm on Tuesday.
While 2,318 people were dismissed on Tuesday, the total number of infected people who had recovered in the country rose to 1,61,642 with the total number of infected people at 1.75.022.
The total active case on Tuesday was 12,768, while the victim rose to 612 with four more people who surrendered to the virus in the last 24 hours.
What is worried about health experts is the fact that the burden of daily cases in the country continues to increase, while other countries have witnessed swimming in infection day after day.
“Kaseload was very high during the last part of the second wave of last year in Mizoram.
While other countries, especially in the northeastern region, only recorded several infections, Mizoram reported the highest daily load for more than 60 consecutive days last year,” said A health worker.
