At 26%, the Nagpur division recorded the second highest school attendance

Nagpur: Nearly 26% of school students who qualified in the Nagpur Division returned to the classroom because STD VIII-XII continued to be open in rural areas.
In terms of numbers, it means that around 1.53 lakh students returned to their classroom in the Nagpur Division made it the second highest in the state after Aurangabad who recorded 1.94 students.
The state government has issued a GR that allows the reopening of schools in urban areas (VIII-XII) while also possible in rural areas of students from STD V and into school.
Although the Gr was issued on August 10, detained after members of the Covid Task Force state expressed concern over the reopening.
Speaking to TI earlier this week, Minister of Education Varsha Gaikwad said the final decision on the application of GR will be taken soon.
In terms of percentage, Nagpur still maintained the second slot in the state but this time, it was behind the latch which recorded the presence of 56.58% even though in terms of numbers, around 1.28 lakh.
The lowest attendance figures came from the Mumbai division of 2.31% with more than 20,000 students attending classes.
The school was only reopened in the Thane and Palghar district.
Division Pune marked 5.37% of attendance with 39,322 students.
The presence was reported from the Soapur District, Ahmednagar and Pune.
“These figures encourage even though only 15% of students who meet the requirements return to the classroom.
That’s because we come from a very deadly second wave and the memory of the destruction is still fresh.
The second point is that only rustic schools are reopened, While the urban area of high density remains closed.
The third point is that the recent floods in certain parts of the country have then put the brakes on academic normalization, “said an education officer.
The official added that because of the third wave concern that affected the children, parents were somewhat alert.
“By the way, the main goal of reopening is benefiting students who cannot access online education.
We believe it is on track,” the official said.
