New Delhi: Covid-19 Daily Case in India crossed a 25,000 mark on Saturday because more than 27,000 fresh infections were recorded, a 22% increase over the previous day counting.
On New Year’s Day, India has reported 27,718 new cases late at night with data from two awaited countries.
This is more than 5,000 more than the calculation of 22,706 on Friday.
Covid infection has exploded this week, to coincide with the increase in the omicron variant of the virus, with cases rising almost 4.5 times in just five days.
While Secure 22% in the case on Saturday was lower than the percentage growth recorded in four days earlier, this could be caused by a decrease in testing of New Year’s Eve because the iPositives of the All-India test increased to 4.4%, from 2.05% on the day previously.
Maharashtra continues to post the highest number of cases at 9,170, up nearly 14% over 8,067 Friday.
Of these, Mumbai only contributed 6,180 cases, continuing to report the highest number of infections among Metros.
Bengal reported 4,512 new cases, up from 3,451 on Friday, recorded a 31% increase in a day.
Kolkata posted 2,398 of these cases because big cities remained the main center of the current Covid surge.
The country’s positioning level rose to 12.02% from 8.46% on Friday as daily testing dipped.
With 2,716 new cases, up 51% since Friday, Delhi reported the third highest number of cases among countries, pushing Kerala (2,435 cases) to fourth place.
Meanwhile, Bihar reported the highest daily percentage increase, reported 281 new cases, up 78% from the number Friday 158.

Gujarat recorded 1,069 cases, up 64% from 654 the previous day.
Other countries that record one day’s surge are more than 50% including Madhya Pradesh (124 cases, up 61%) and Uttar Pradesh (383 cases, up 53%).

However, covid victims as a whole rose 291 with the addition of old deaths, especially from Kerala.
