Bathinda: Minister of Punjab Five times Parkash Singh Badal, 94, whose nomination was announced by the sad president of Aukhbir Singh Badal on Wednesday, would be the oldest contestant in each election in this country.
Previously, this record was held by former Chief of Minister Kerala vs.
Achuthananandan who had assemblies in 2016 at the age of 92 years.
For more than five decades, the Sad Patron Badal has become an integral part of the party selection campaign and the source of strength for it.
That grew that even at the age of 94, sadly felt the need for its presence in the election battle.
He was reluctant before but agreed to do a contest to restore party prestige.
Sad faced his worst transfer in the election of the 2017 assembly when it could barely win 15 seats and lose the main opposition party tag, which was won by a new party aadmi by winning 20 seats.
Sad did not want to risk any time this time and was seconded to the Senior Badal name to get its core bank in the Punjab countryside back with the party.
People in claiming that even though Badal can be limited to campaigning in his constituency, Lambi, his presence in the election scene will be a big boost for the party.
Since the 1969 assembly poll, Badal Senior is always at the top of the leadership in parliamentary polls and assembly.
In front of the person, he never lost an election, registering 10 consecutive wins.
The first five from 1969 to 1985 from the constituency of Gidderbaha and the next five assemblies from 1997 to 2017 from the Lambi assembly chair.
He won his first election from the Malout seat in 1957 and then lost narrowly to Harcharan Singh Brar from Gidderbaha in 1967.
