Hyderabad: In the rapid development on Tuesday, Minister of Finance T Harish Rao, who was the election of the Incharge TRS in Huzurabad, was given additional charges of the medical portfolio, health and family welfare by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
The important portfolio was handled by Eatala Rajender before its transfer from the cabinet in April this year.
Secretary Chief Somesh Kumar issued a GO allocating a health portfolio to save after the CM command and Governor of Tamilisai Soundararajan.
Even though the ruling party lost the seat Huzurabad to Eatala, the source said the KCR acknowledged Harish Rao’s efforts in the election and reward him with the Ministry of Health.
FM camped in the assembly constituency for almost four months and campaigned with enthusiasm for the Gellu Srinivas Party candidate Yadav.
Analysts said KCR wanted to explain that he would recognize the efforts of party leaders regardless of the results of the polling.
The official source said after Huzurabad Bypoll, CM began to focus on regular administrative work.
“There is an urgent need for full health ministers because the government plans to build four multi-specialized hospitals in four corners of the city, medical colleges and take other infrastructure development jobs in government hospitals,” a senior government official said.
After the Eatala was stripped of the health portfolio on April 30 and was removed from the cabinet a day later, KCR made the department with him.
Harish was asked to care for the department, especially the management of Pandemic Covid-19, despite the department technically with CM itself.
In the first term of the Government of the Government, Harish Rao handled crucial irrigation porfolio and had tracked all irrigation projects, especially the Kaleshwaram elevator irrigation project and Kakatiya’s mission scheme.
In the second term, he was given the Ministry of Finance, which was considered an insignificant portfolio compared to other major departments.
Last year, KCR had made Harish Rao Incharge from Dubbak by-election where TRS lost the battle to BJP.
Earlier this year, FM was asked to keep the party campaigned at Hyderabad graduates of MLC Election in the Rangeddy district.
