Baghdad: At least three rockets hit Baghdad International Airport and the adjacent military base that accommodated the US and other coalition advisers on Friday, damaging commercial aircraft left but did not cause casualties, Iraqi officials said.
Rockets attacked in the morning hours, and landed between civil and military airport areas, two security officials said with anonymous requirements because they were not authorized to abbreviate the press.
Iraq Airways, the country’s main operator said in a statement that the attack damaged one of the aircraft services parked near the airport but the operation went normally and there was no expected delay.
This attack was the latest in a series of rocket attacks and drones targeting the presence of America in Iraq since the beginning of the year, following the commemoration of the two US strikes that killed Iran Gen.
