At least 30 killed on weekends of Congo Attack

Bunia: At least 30 people were killed in weekend attacks in the restive northeast Democratic Republic of Congo, local and UN sources said on Monday.
The jihadists of the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) is alleged to have carried out attacks in Ituri region on Saturday, they said.
Dieudonne Malangayi, acting chairman of the head Vonkutu Walese, initially said 14 people died in the attack, but told AFP on Monday that more bodies have been found.
“Civilians who went looking for the bodies of the victims found the 16 others in the bush, which makes 30 civilians were massacred,” said Malangayi.
UN sources confirmed that at least 30 people have died in the attack.
A civilian who helped search for the dead said the victims have largely been attacked with machetes or shot.
ADF, the United States had considered a terrorist group, considered the most deadly of a number of armed militias roam Congo mineral-rich eastern Congo.
