Algiers: Forest fires tore the North Algerian forest area have killed at least 65 people, state television reported on Wednesday, because some of the most destructive Blaz in the country’s history continued to go berserk.
The government had mobilized soldiers to help fight the fire, which had burned the most ferocious in the Mountain Kabylie area, and 28 dead were soldiers, with the other 12 who were seriously injured by burns.
President Abdelmadjid Tebboune said three national mourning days for dead activities and freezing countries that were not related to fires.
Forest fires have set a large portion of Algeria, Turkey and Greece Aflame for the past week and the European Union’s atmosphere monitor said the Mediterranean has become a wildfire hotspot assisted by the hottest weather.
Dozens of separate fires have been raged in the forest area throughout North Algeria since Monday and at the interior minister Tuesday Kamel Beldjoud accused the burning of attacking fire, without providing evidence.
The worst hit area has become Tizi Ouzou, the largest district in the Kabylie area, where the house has been burned and residents escape to take refuge in hotels, hostels and university accommodations in nearby cities.
The government said it would compensate for those affected.
