Nagpur: The Minister of Environment The neighborhood of Aaditya Thackeray said that he would find a way to ensure that the Inter-Capital Station (IMS) came in Nagpur and at the same time ensure that Vann’s Ajni was protected and remained green.
During his visit to the city Monday, The Minster stopped at the Ajni Vann after the Crusaders neighborhood offered it outside the Division Commissioner Office.
For their request, Thackeray visits a fertile green area in the Ajni area where around 40,000 old trees are proposed to be cut for a multi-phase IMS project.
Environmental lovers show the project site proposed to the Minister and also submitted detailed plans for alternative sites from projects including Khapri in the suburbs.

After hearing the views of the environment lovers, Thackeray assured to see this problem.
While interacting with Toi, Thackeray said that wherever trees can be saved, efforts must be made to save them.
“For green fillings such as the Ajni Vann, we have the view that there must be sustainable development.
Recently, we saved a 400-year-old tree from logging for roads in Sangli.
We also saved other trees in Nashik who were 250 years old,” he told the media .
Environmental lovers, who have been fighting with a two-year battle to save the green cover at the Ajni, expressed thanks to Thackeray.
His visit was celebrated on social media with a large number of green.
“The fact that the minister visited the area and heard our voice was a victory for us.
We have full confidence that he won’t let the green cover broken.
We are not against the IMS project but what we ask for is sustainable development,” they said.
Workday back, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari stated that his ministry would bring down the IMS project if citizens did not want it.
He also informed that the contractor had canceled the project and sent a letter of cessation to the National Highway Authority (NHAI) because he was legally tangled.
While the case is subjudice, the objection letter submitted by residents of the logging of trees has been submitted to the newly formed state tree authorities.
The committee has asked for NHAI, which is the project’s proposer, to submit a detailed analysis of the alternative site explored.
Authority also decided to refer back cases for compliance in accordance with the standard operating procedure (SOP).
The proposal needs to enter the tree census and the age of the tree.
