Coimbatore: The police arrested a 33-year-old man on Friday for deceiving elderly people by offering to help them withdraw cash from the ATM.
Ramanathapuram police identified as Mohammed Thambi alias Mahi from Adirampattinam in the Thanjavur District.
“Mohammed is the assistant cynemographer of four Tamil films and cinematographers from several short films.
He deceived Rs 16,000 from account B Vasanthi, 54, from Sripathi Nagar in Ramanathapuram.
Vasanthi has visited the National ATM Center standing in Nanjundapuram Road on August 11.
Mohammed offers for Helping him withdraw cash from the machine.
After giving him money, he recorded a pin number and returned a similar card.
He then used the female card to attract Rs 16,000, “said a police officer.
Mohammed faced a similar case at the Kuniyamuthur police station.
