TURIN (Italy): Alexander Zverev established a clash with Novak Djokovic in the last four ATP finals after a direct victory over Hurbert Hurkacz 6-2 on Thursday.
World number Three Zverev claimed a place in the semifinals behind Daniel Medvedev who had fulfilled the requirements in just more than an hour and will face Djokovic on Saturday for a place in the final in Turin.
Zverev looks like he will have the qualifications done in a very short time after sweeping into the first set in just 26 minutes with a tennis display that dominates.
The seventh seed Hurkacz only won nine points in the opening set when Zverev was charged to the first four matches before serving to lead quickly.
But Hurkacz lowered his strong dish to put a break on his opponent, babbling from 10 Aces to take a foothold in the match until he finally lost his service in the nine match to leave Zverev with the opportunity.
He did not make mistakes by winning his service and ensuring clashes with Djokovic on weekends.
