Lucknow: Ashish Dixit, Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) Command from the Uttar Pradesh Police, has brought a victory to the country by scaling Elbrus Mountain, one of Europe’s highest peaks.
Dixit scales the Elbrus Peak (5,642 meters), located in the western part of the Caucasus mountains in Russia, in the midst of bad weather conditions on August 15.
Dixit previously climbed the highest peak in Africa, Mount Kilimanjaro in 2020.
He now wants to complete the task of climbing seven peaks consisting of the highest point of each of the seven continents.
Dixit has also looked at Mount Aconcagua, which is in Argentina and is the highest peak of South America.
Speaking with Toi, from Russia after descending from the peak, said Dixit, “it filled my heart happily to lift the country flag in the 75th year of independence in Europe.
Three other police officers from other countries have also gone with me to score peaks but because Bad weather conditions and poor health they cannot complete the expedition, “he said.
Dixit further said it was not easy to withstand minus the temperature of Celsius 20 degrees with the wind blowing above 60 km / h during the trekking of Elbrus Peak.
“It requires grit and desire to bring yourself in bad weather conditions,” he added.
The police began this climb on 11 nights August and on August 15 he was above.
After that it took two days to return.

“I have joined the NCC where I was trained for trekking and gradually began with the peak of India in Sikkim, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
