New Delhi: August 14 will be observed as partitioning Horrores Remembrance Day in the memory of the struggle and sacrifice of people, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Saturday.
The Prime Minister said the pain of the partition could never be forgotten.
“Millions of our sisters and the brothers are abandoned and many have lost their lives due to hatred and violence that do not care.
In the memory of our struggle and sacrifice of our people, August 14 will be observed as a horror partition horror,” PM Modi Tweeted.
“Hopefully the horror partition remembers the day to remind us of the need to eliminate the toxins of social division, disharmony and further strengthen the spirit of unity, social harmony and human empowerment,” he added.
India will celebrate the 75th Independence Day on Sunday.
