Aurangabad: A 34-year-old officer with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), the Mumbai branch, was arrested on Friday by the Parli train police for allegedly persecuting a 25-year-old woman in a train, the Government Train Police Aurangabad said.
According to the police, the defendant has been identified as Dinesh Chavan, a civilian ranked SP in NCB.
According to complaints, the victim and the defendant traveled to Hyderabad from Pune on the same train.
The defendant traveled to Hyderabad to hear the court.
The flag was alleged that Chavan touched it inappropriately, took off his underwear from his bag, sniffing and putting it on his chest, said M Patil, SP GRP Aurangabad.
The police said that a case had been listed under Section 354 (a) (sexual abuse) and 509 (said, movement or action intended to insult the simplicity of a woman) from the Indian Criminal Code (IPC).
Further investigation is underway.
