Aurangabad: A retired sub-inspector has been tricked by Rs 10.75 lakh after he accidentally rotates numbers, which are planted by cheat on the Internet.
According to the complaint submitted by the 63-year-old Mohite Mohite, a resident of Paithan, the allegations of cheating took place on Thursday morning, after he faced the problem while trying to install and operate a nationalized bank-based application.
Mohite told Toi, “I was cheated after the suspect claimed as a customer service executive made me install the ‘Desk’ application on my cellphone.” Based on the complaint submitted by retired COP, the Cyber Police Station in Aurangabad Rural has ordered an unknown suspect on allegations of cheating and also invoke parts of information and technology laws.
Police retired, in his complaint, said after facing technical disorders when installing a cellphone-based application to make online transactions, he searched for customer service numbers on the internet.
