Aurangabad: Aurangabad City Police has received a fitness regim to be followed by all personnel throughout the hierarchy.
Aurangabad Police Commissioner Nikhil Gupta said this step aims to make police personnel more suitable so that they remain protected from lifestyle diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease.
Gupta said, “The police are expected to stay fit until the last day of their services.
In addition, the situation of the pandemic is currently highlighting the need for physical fitness of each individual.” Only 10 police participated in the half-marathon event which had just concluded.
Gupta on Monday night turned 10 of these personnel and even gave them award certificate.
It also inspired the fitness regimen limestone.
MIDC Waluj Police Inspector Sandeep Gurme, which is among the 10 who completed a 21 km marathon, lead in preparing the regimen.
According to the fitness regimen, the first phase is three months and the police are expected to exercise for five days a week.
The police will also be given a format to track each other’s exercises, timings, so that individual performance can be measured.
The regimen expects beginners to start with five Suryanamakar, some stretching exercises and three kilometers run fast.
This can be increased every week with a quick road target or jogging for 10 km at the end of three months.
Gurme said, “The regimen has been prepared with the guidance of fitness experts and professional marathon runners.”
