Aurangabad: Women give babies on the MSRTC bus

Aurangabad: A woman gave birth to the MSRTC bus which moved near Sillod in the Aurangabad district on June 28.
The bus was then taken to Run Hospital at Ajanta where the baby navel cord was cut.
The incident was revealed on Saturday after Maya Shelke, a teacher traveling with the same bus, sharing an emotional post on social media.
Vithhal Pardeshi Bus Conductor said her pregnant woman, her husband and her mother-in-law – who came from Soygaon Taluka – had taken a bus in Sillod.
“We left the SILLOD bus stand.
Soon, the woman went to workers.
We can’t increase the speed of the bus because of the ongoing road work.
Before we can even reach the nearby taluka place, the woman has delivered a baby in a bus chair with the help of co- Women’s passengers, “he said.
Pardeshi said the navel cope could not be cut on the bus.
As a result, a new mother is unable to hold the baby.
“Newborns who cried were held by his grandmother.
Meanwhile, other passengers made a futile effort to arrange an ambulance.
The baby continued to cry for about 30 minutes before the bus could reach the hospital,” he said.
The MSRTC depot in Shrirampur, in the adjacent Ahmednagar district, Pardeshi and Bharat Kolape bus driver to offer assistance to pregnant women.
“This is a unique incident to have a baby born on a moving bus.
This event has moved us all,” said Depot Manager Rakesh Shivade.
The new mother cannot be contacted for her comments because her cellphone is beyond the reach.
