Sydney: Australia Cricket on Thursday appointed Michael in Vaughan and Jeff Vaughan as assistant coach for the men’s national team, a year after cutting down support staff to overcome the financial impact of Covid-19 pandemic.
This duo will join the head coach of Justin Langer’s head coating in full time ahead of the busy summer which includes the ash series, a test against Afghanistan matches and white balls against New Zealand and Sri Lanka, according to the Australian Cricket statement.
Both had the experience of being a coach beat and seen as a substitute for Graeme Hick, who had been removed last year from the position as part of the effort to cut the cost of Australia’s cricket which caused 40 people to lose their jobs.
In Venuto, 47 years old, who has played nine ODI and played 336 class one, 302 A list of A and 54 T20 matches during a dear 16 years career, currently with Australian forces in St Lucia for T20i tours and ODI.

He had previously worked with a team of Australian men as Batter coach, before leading Surrey to the title of the first British district in 16 years in 2018.
He returned to Australia in 2020 and had worked with striker Adelaide, Hobart Hurricanes and Tasmania.
“I have spent some time around the group for the past month and really enjoyed returning with them,” said Venuto.
Vaughan represents South Australia in 28th grade and 24 list of matches.
The 47-year-old was appointed as head coach Marsh Sheffield Sheffield Tasmania and Tim Marsh one day of the trophy in 2020.
“Joins the Australian men’s team as assistant coach is the highlight of my career until now and I hope to contribute to the success of the troops,” Vaughan said.
Langer said he hoped to work with the duo.
“They are tremendous coaches and leaders in their respective fields.
They will add so much skills and value for this group.
We are very happy to have both,” Langer added
