Sydney: New South Wales reported 415 Covid-19 cases obtained by 415 new on Sunday, down from the previous day’s record of 466, because the most populous country in Australia entered the Lockdown snap to control the deployment of the Delta variant in regional cities.
Worried about fostering infections in rural areas because recent waste tests detected viruses in several regional cities, officials on Saturday tightened limits and ordered snap snap seven days throughout the state.
“Western New South Wales remains a concern, especially in relation to our vulnerable customs communities,” said Premier State Gladys Kniklian to reporters in Sydney.
On Sunday, officials said four more people died, took the number of deaths in the latest outbreak in the 46th state.
Of new positive cases, at least 66 were people who spent time in the community while contagious, said Beejiklian.
