SYDNEY: An Australian academic trial in China for espionage has told fans he’s been tortured in detention and does not know which state he’s accused of spying .
Chinese-born Yang Jun stated that he had been abused while being held in a secret detention site after being taken into custody two or more decades back.
“The initial six months.

has been a very terrible period.
They tortured me,” he explained in a message viewed by AFP.
“I have been held at a position worse than jail for more than a couple of decades now.
” The 56-year-old academic trial began behind closed doors Thursday, using all the Australian ambassador in Beijing refused access.
Yang explained he can just eat two teeth because of dental issues and has been”confused and tired” during Thursday’s hearing, where he”did not possess the soul to talk enough” “I just spoke for three-five moments.
My defence wasn’t so great ” Yang insisted that he is”100 percent innocent” and stated he’d attempted and failed to receive documents out of his interrogation ignored.
“It is illegal.
Torture,” he said, accusing government of employing a”hidden camera”.

Beijing has stated the trial could legally be held secretly as it involves”state secrets” and has criticised Australia for”hindrance” in a period of deteriorating relations between both states.
Yang, and that goes under the pen name Yang Hengjun, said that he was unsure who he had been accused of spying .
“This is not a crime of ideology.
The fees are all about espionage.
But that did I really work for? If that really is a crime, and when I am a criminal, then that did I really work for? I used ton’t do the job for Australia or the US,” he explained.
“I am simply writing for individuals.

” Yang allegedly functioned in China’s foreign affairs ministry at Hainan state — though this was denied by Beijing.
He’s thought to have left southern China for Hong Kong in 1992 and travelled to the United States five decades after, in which he worked to the Atlantic Council think tank.
He afterwards acquired Australian citizenship — though Beijing doesn’t recognise dual nationality — also composed a set of spy novels and a favorite Chinese-language website.
Yang went lost in China after before in 2011, describing his disappearance as a”mistake” after he resurfaced days afterwards.
Beijing has summarized virtually no specifics of this case against him because he had been taken in custody.
