Australia-based media technology companies have fired an employee accused of divulping videos of two television presenter personally criticizing Tennis players Novak Djokovic, whose visa Australia was canceled on Friday.
Ai-Media Technologies, which provides text and transcription services, does not identify employees.
Video of Surpet-Laden, Leaking this week, showed anchor at Seven West Media 7News discussing the Djokovic’s Covid-19 status and Visa application in conversations outside the air, cursing it as deceiving.
The video seems to have been recorded without the knowledge of news presenter and is seen widely on social media, with many people voicing support for anchors.
Seven also defended the presenters, said the actions recorded state laws.
“AI-Media has identified that employees who work remotely because the Covid-19 outbreak is responsible for illegal content distribution,” said the company in a statement.
“That person is no longer employed by AI-Media,” The company was confirmed in an email to Reuters.
There are no direct comments from employees.
Canceling Djokovic’s Visa on Friday, the Australian Government said the world number one – which has not been vaccinated for Covid-19 – can pose health risks.
Djokovic arrived in Australia last week, pursuing the 21st Grand Slam title on the Australian Open next week.
He was detained in immigration detention until a judge on Monday canceled the decision by the federal government to revoke his visa, but the Australian government revoke it for the second time on Friday.
