MELBOURNE: Cricket Australia (CA) confirmed on Friday it had delayed Afghan tests in Hobart scheduled for November 27 until the situation in Afghanistan became “clear”.
CA In September threatened the test memo if the Taliban government, who took power in August, did not allow women and girls to play sports.
“Following extensive consultations with relevant stakeholders, Australia Cricket and the Afghan cricket council have agreed to postpone the first male trial match against Afghanistan,” CA said in a statement.
“CA is committed to supporting the growth of games for women and men in Afghanistan and throughout the world, however, considering the current uncertainty, CA feels the need to delay the compatibility of the test until later when the situation is clearer.” The increase in extraordinary Afghan cricket in recent years has become the largest fairy tales, but the torn nation is at risk of being surprised to take the takeover of the country’s Taliban.
The Afghan council has requested support from the full member of the complete international cricket council because it seems to defend its place in global cricket.
Afghan status will be discussed at the ICC meeting on the sidelines of the T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates.
Taliban officials said they would not repeat the harsh government from their previous government, which prohibited the education of most girls and forbade women to come out in public without male guardians.
