Australian players support Afghanistan’s attitude: Finch

Melbourne: The Australian player supports the State Council for his threat to contact the test with Afghanistan if the Taliban regime prohibits women from playing cricket, said the white ball captain Aaron Finch on Wednesday.
The Government of the Australian Cricket Agency said that it would cancel the November 27 test in Hobart if reports of women in the South Asian country would be banned from playing the game proven.
“It’s a very challenging time no doubt, but we support the position of Australian cricket,” Finch told reporters in media calls.
Afghanistan cricket board (ACB) said last month was committed to women’s cricket even though they were waiting for instructions from the government in the future.
Afghan forces are preparing the Twenty20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates and Oman starting on October 17.
The Australian Test Captain Tim Paine said the team last month might refuse to play Afghanistan in the World Cup and question how the International Cricket Board, the Global Sport Management Agency, can sanctions on their participation in the tournament.
ICC will discuss Afghanistan and women’s cricket at the next board meeting during the World Cup.
Finch refused to say whether Australia would feel comfortable playing Afghanistan at the World Cup where they would not meet except both teams advanced to at least the semi-finals.
“That’s the ICC decision,” he said.
“We hope things can solve themselves and Afghanistan can play a big role in international cricket.” We have seen how important they are, the development of their game in Afghanistan, no doubt is great.
