Tokyo: Australian Showjumper Jamie Kermond is Wednesday while suspended from the Tokyo Olympics after testing positive cocaine, said team officials.
The 36-year-old returned a positive sample for cocaine metabolites on June 26 after the test with Australian sports integrity.
“Mr.
Kermond is prohibited from participating in the appropriate Wada event, including the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, while the suspension is while there,” Equestrian Australia said in a statement.
Under Australia’s anti-doping policy, he now has the opportunity to analyze his B-sample.
According to the Australian report, Kermond did not travel with other teams when they flew to Tokyo on Tuesday.
