Nashik: A driver of the Autorickshaw allegedly burned a 52-year-old woman on Tuesday afternoon it seems because she stopped hiring her vehicle for running her business selling Sarees.
The woman, Bharati Gaund, is very important after suffering from 90% of injury burns.
Panchavati police have ordered the 47-year-old driver, who also suffered burns in the incident and had been hospitalized.
He escaped from the place but was tracked by the police to his relative home.
Sister Elder Bharati, Sushila (61), who tried to save her, was also sustainable 20% of burns.
In accordance with the complaint registered by Sushila at the Panchavati Police Station, Bharati had come to her flat around noon when the driver also appeared there and took an argument.
The driver slapped Bharati and told him to come out with him.
When Bharati did not listen to it, the driver issued a bottle with substances such as kerosene and threw it on him.
He also lit a match and threw it before running away.
Sushila somehow managed to remove the flame and rushed Bharati to Nashik’s civil hospital.
Some material at Sushila’s house also burned.
Police Inspector Assistant S B Chopade, an investigative officer in this case, said they found the driver at his relatives’ house but had to probate him because of his fuel wound.
Chopade said Bharati and the driver knew each other long.
“He used to hire his autorickshaw for any work when he used to sell Sarees.
However, lately, he stopped hiring his vehicle.
This could be the reason for him to try to kill him.
We are investigating further,” he said.
Senior Police Inspector Ashok Bhagat from the Panchavati Police Station confirmed that Bharati was in critical condition.
