Gurgaon: Heavy Rain Claiming the Life of a Car Driver, which drowned in the flood pedestrian underpass in Rajiv Chowk on Monday.
The man, identified as Durgesh (24), was used to live with his family in Baldev Nagar.
On Monday morning, he had gone with his car to work.
Around 5pm, the police control room received information that a young man was seen in the underwater underpass, after the police from the Shivaji Nagar police station, along with the fire brigade team, reached the area.
The firefighting team must navigate the flood underpass with the help of a boat to save Durgesh.
He was taken to a civil hospital, where the doctor stated he died.
Durgesh was identified from documents in his pocket.
The police then restored the parked car near the pedestrian underpass in Rajiv Chowk.
“The situation around his death is unclear.
We are investigating how and why he went to the underlying underpass,” Subhash Benek police spokesman said.
Underpass where Durgesh’s body was found intended for pedestrians and non-motorized transportation.
