Two automatic road sweeper trucks each with six cubic meter capacity purchased with a total cost of Rs 1.73 Crore.
Vehicles can clean the area of ​​16,000 square feet per hour and can be operated for eight consecutive hours.
However, the frequency of operating machines has been low and many residents did not even realize the vehicle that existed with civil bodies.
Even though the arterial streets in the city have leanau gather near the middle median, vehicles are not often operated.
Corporations use vehicles once a week.
The use of extensive fuel by vehicles is quoted as one reason for use is limited.
“The road in Cantonment and Thillai Nagar still have accumulated mud, vehicles can be used every day,” T Udayakumar, residents Anna Nagar added.
While the road surface is flatly cleaned properly, the engine struggles to remove the lanau from an uneven road area.
The sweeper absorbed only if there is a lot on the road, the official claims.
