Chennai: Madras High Court has banned the authoricks that are not licensed from inter-country passengers who transport from Cuddalore to Puduchhery without the right permission.
The first bench Head of Justice Sanjib Banerjee and Justice P D Audikesavalu passed the order on Tuesday, on the pill moved by T Nandha accused that more than 150 autorickshaw was operated illegally from Cuducerore to Puduchery.
Advice for Puducherry proposed that considering short distances, it is necessary permission to be obtained from one of the points and because permits obtained from the transportation authority in Cuddalore, no further permission is needed for vehicles between Puducherry and Cuddalore.
The Puducherry Transport Commissioner filed that there was no violation that had been brought to government notice except several cars carrying passengers who needed care for Covid-19.
The bench said, “The court cannot be related to wild or non-routine examples to hospitals with Covid-19 patients.” Both transportation departments in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry must ensure that all auto run routes commonly from Cuddalore to Puducherry has a certificate issued by the Tamil Nadu transportation department, the court said.
“With the absence of licenses or permits produced, relevant auto must be prohibited from carrying out any activities in the route,” added the judges.
