Coimbatore: burdened by debt and financial stress, a driver of the Autorickshaw hang himself in Gandhipuram on Monday morning.
The police identified him as N Anandakumar, 47, from Gandhipuram Iind Street.
“He had borrowed money from several people and could not return the amount.
Because of the pandemic, he could not work and depression.
On Monday morning, he came to the car stand on Cross Cut Road wearing a driver’s uniform and hanging himself from a tree,” said an officer police.
The team from the Kattoor police station recovered a suicide note from the body.
“In a suicide note, Anandakumar said he took extreme steps because he failed to pay a loan.
He urged his son not to attend his cremation and asked his daughter to pursue a higher study,” the officer added.
The body was handed over to the family after postmortem.tnn
