Greater Noida: Former Karnataka Cricketer AV Jayaprakash has been signed by the larger industrial development authority (Gnida) to train the players aspiringly at the Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Stadium.
Officials said Jayaprakash would train Cricketers for four days a week, starting Tuesday.
After badminton, skating and shooting, Jayaprakash was the fourth coach that Gnida had employed for the sports complex.
As many as 12 trainers for various sports and games tend to be employed.
“Cricket training will start from Tuesday.
We have signed AV Jayaprakash, which has been trained by the National Cricket Academy (NCA),” said Deep Chandra, an additional CEO of Gnida.
Jayaprakash, he said, will train Cricketers on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday starting at 14:30.
Training for sports and other games will take place in the morning or evening.
“There are many talents at the local level.
Many sportsmen don’t get the right infrastructure or training.
We have gotten a lot of requests to prepare sports facilities.
We hope local youth will benefit from this,” said Narendra Bhoooshan, CEO of Gnida.
There are plans to hire coaches in the field of swimming, squash, table tennis, wrestling and so on.
“With these fields, we will be able to further enhance our local talents,” Chandra said.
