Coimbatore: A 36-year-old man was detained on Saturday night in connection with a beaten and managed case where an old woman, who crossed Jalan Avinashi near Chinniyampalayam, was killed in the early hours of the morning, CCTV Footage before.
The body of the woman, who was run by several vehicles, has become a viral on social media.
While the police have traced the car involved in the incident after five days of intensive investigation, they had not traced the identity of a woman who had died.
The police identified the person guaranteed as Faizal, 36, son of Mohammed Ismail, from Indira Nagar 2nd Street near Nehru Nagar in Kalapti in the city.
Faizal’s mother, police said, was in Trichy City.
A police officer said, “On September 5, Faizal, his wife and brother, Sheik Mujibur Rahman had gone to Trichy to meet his mother in a multiguna vehicle (MPV).
When returning home on September 6, an old woman suddenly crossed the road when They approached the tire shop in Chinniampalayam.
MPV hit the old woman, killed her in place.
While her sari was arrested in a vehicle, the body was released from the MPV immediately.
“Faizal, the officer said, had told them that he had examined the car when his wife and His brother asked him to stop the vehicle after hitting the woman.
“He told us that he had not seen anything Faizal did not approach the police after mechanics restored the juice of his vehicle.
He is likely to be returned in Judicial custody on Sunday morning.
Shows that they have registered a case below section 174 of the criminal procedure code, officers said this case will now be registered under Section 304 (a) (causing death due to negligence) and 279 (driving in the public) of the Indian punishment code.
