Coimbatore: City police have traced the identity of old women whose broken bodies found on Jalan Avinashi near Chinniyampalayam Monday.
Police identified him as C Lakshmi, 80, from Kariyampalayam in Annur.
He worked in the canteen of a college assisted by the government in the Pealamedu.
He used to live in the canteen and will visit Kariyampalayam once a month to meet his son C Saminasihan, 52, a worker.
He is not in good requirements with his daughter-in-law, police said.
“Last week, the canteen operator asked Lakshmi to bring his aadhaar card for Covid vaccination.
He went to Kariyampalayam on the morning of September 6 to get a card.
When he tried to cross the road avinashi in Chinniyampalam, a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) hit him on Place, “said a police officer.
Sari Lakshmi was arrested at MPV and her half naked body run by several other vehicles.
The Peellamedu police initially suspected it became a murder but the postmortem report said it was an accident.
The police also identified the owner of MPV, M Faizal, 36, from Indira Nagar 2nd Street at Nehru Nagar near the Kalapti on Saturday night.
They seized the vehicle and restored sari caught in the steering wheel.
Faizal was arrested and then released on the bail body.Lakshmi conditional was handed over to Saminathan on Sunday afternoon.
This case has been transferred to the Wing Traffic Investigation Police.
