Mumbai: AXIS Bank has taken several HR steps to bring equality for employees and customers from the LGBTQIA + community as part of its strategy to promote diversity and inclusion.
Personal lenders on Monday announced the charter policy and practice of ‘Comeasyouare’ which will apply to those who are in organizations and customers.
The bank said that this charter was in accordance with the spirit of the Supreme Court’s decision on September 6, 2018 in Section 377, which decided that all sexual relations between adults who agreed personally must be damricinalized.
While multinational banks have placed a variety of diversity in accordance with their global practice, the AXIS Bank is the first between domestic lenders to openly announce the charter.
Under this charter, employees can include their partners for the benefits of Mediclaim regardless of gender, gender or marital status.
Employees can dress following their gender or gender expression.
“We realize that employees can have gender or gender expressions that are different from their gender assigned at birth.
They can choose to dress according to their gender / gender expression,” Bank said.
Employees can also choose to use their choice toilets following their gender / gender identity expression.
For customers, the Bank has allowed the opening of a savings account with the same sex partner and chose it as their nomination.
Customers who are not gender non-binary, gender fluid or transgender people will have the choice to choose their title from the ‘MX’ option in their savings account or deposits.
“This is for us as many about spiders that don’t look like about what is seen.

Towards that, our work internally focuses on creating fair processes and policies that allow us to create space for everyone to develop,” he added .
