Panaji: After construction work in all Ayurveda Institutes (AII) was initiated without environmental permission, the fine of RS 23 Lakh had been put in the project by the authority of the Cave State Environmental Impact Assessment (Goa-Seiaa).
The institute was funded by the Ministry of Union Ayush.
“Project initiator has shown the cost of the project as Rs 23 Crore.
According to the SOP, the fine to be collected is 1% of the total cost of the project, which exercised up to RS 23 lakh.
Project initiator must save this amount within a month before this authority,” said Goa-seiaa at his meeting in October 5.
The Institute will appear in an area of ​​2 Lakh SQM in Dhargalim and Stone Foundation for this project placed by the Union Minister Ayush Shripad up, in 2018.
But environmental permits (EC) for the project are only sought in the month August this year.
After Goa-Seiaa received requests for approval for the project in August, an inspection was held on August 17.
During this inspection it was found that construction work has begun without environmental permission.
“Construction has begun without obtaining a previous environmental permit and therefore a case of violation,” Goa-seiaa said at the meeting was held in August.
Goa-seiaa has set several reference requirements for the environmental impact assessment that will be carried out at the location.
“The authority decided to provide a reference framework (TOR) to all the Indian Ayurveda Institute on the imposition of a penalty as a commemoration of the office issued by the Ministry of Forest Environment and Climate Change,” Goa-Seiaa said at this month’s meeting.
The land where the AIIA project which is centrally funded will appear in Dhargalim at first obtained by the state government for the development of sports cities.
The land was then allocated to the Ayurveda Institute.
Of the total land area of ​​2 lakh sqm intended for AIIA, 47,500 square meters will be a built-up area.
The National Institute with full capacity is expected to have 500 seats offered for students who cover various programs.
The Institute, which consists of a research center and 100 beds, will offer postgraduate and graduate programs, and develop in the future to include courses in homeopathy, Unani and Siddha systems, also announced.
