Pune: Dr.
Balaji Tambe, a famous spiritual leader who is also a Ayurveda doctor and supporter of yoga, died at a private hospital here on Tuesday after a short disease, a source close to his family.
He is 81 years old.
The founder of ‘atmasantulana village’, a holistic healing center near Lonavala, Dr.
Tambe has written several books on spirituality, yoga and ayurveda.
He survived his wife, two sons and daughters in-laws and four grandchildren.
Head of Maharashtra Minister Uddhav Thackeray spent his death, by saying with the help of Ayurveda and Yoga, he brought a change in the lives of many people.
“With the destruction of Dr.
Tambe, we have lost Ayurveda supporters, Yoga.
His contribution will be remembered,” Thackeray said.
Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari also expressed sadness over the death of Tambe.
“Sad to know about the death of the Ayurvedacharya Shri Balaji Tambe.
He dedicated his entire life to promote and popularize Ayurveda and Yoga.
Through clear writings and his conversation shows the path of life elevated and healthy to people of all ages to the last” Koshyari said in his message .
