The Ministry of Education is studying the efficacy of traditional health knowledge and how the Ayush system can be integrated into the mainstream academic curriculum, the Ayush Minister Sarbanou Sonowal told Manash Guhain.

• Does the center have a plan to introduce the alternative / traditional health system in the new school curriculum?
National education policies have opened new ways to integrate traditional scientific knowledge in regional language into the mainstream education system.
Also, a committee with Ayush experts has been formed in the Ministry of Education.
The efficacy of the Ayush and scientific basis of this system will be integrated into the curriculum.
The process is active and we immediately hope for better results.
• How will the government make a Ayurveda field competitive?
Safe! You have managed to throw your votelogin to see the results we have more than 400 Ayurveda colleges, around 250 college of Homeopathy, 57 Unani Colleges, 13 Siddha colleges and five Soaha Rigpa colleges.
That number is important, but what is important is improving quality.
This is for the first time the status of ‘Institute of National Portsection’ has been given to the Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda, Gujarat.
The Ministry is developing a National Institution Satellite Institution such as the National Institute of Homeopathy in Narella, Delhi.
The ministry also provides financial assistance under a scheme sponsored centrally from the National Ayush Mission.
We provide financial assistance for the opening of new Ayush Colleges in non-count areas.
For this purpose, RS 70 Crores has been intended.
• The ministry seems to have a special focus in the northeastern state.
Can you describe?
Ayush activities in these countries have two driving forces – the default appeal of the devastating Ayush system in the social-cultural mindset and interesting countries in the region in active stakeholder mode for the development of ayush.
All of these initiatives will provide real results in a few days to come.
We consulted with the country to develop Ayurvedic College in Guwahati as a national referral center for Kshar Sutra.
The Ayush Directorate is preparing Gunaram Herbal medicine experts Khanikar, the original village of Tetitelol (Bengenakhowa) Golaghat as ‘Ayush Gram’.
• What are your plans in promoting R & D and innovation in traditional and alternative systems?
Within several times, especially during pandemics, the ministry has formed an interdisciplinary Ayush R & D task unit and has senior scientists from Ayurveda and conventional medical systems such as ICMR, AIIMS etc.
Taskforce has designed a clinical research protocol for study and add-on probhylactic.

• Career incentives are what attracts students into certain fields of study.
How can the ayush system diverse and fulfill career paths?
We will hold a conference in Guwahati where experts from our research council and national institutions will interact with northeastern state students.
Students will feel aspects related to education, career and entrepreneurship that appear in various Ayush streams.
