Ayushmann Khurrana impresses his fans by playing various taboo subject characters over the past few years.
The latest release ‘Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui’ also deals with discrimination and exclusion faced by the trans community in the community.
In the film, Ayushmann played bodybuilders and found that his girlfriend was a trans woman.
In an interview with a famous publication, the actor talked about the lack of awareness about the Trans community and revealed how he first learned about the community when he was only 13 years old.
Ayushmann remembers his childhood memories and said that in the mid 90’s, there were two girls in a hostel, who came to his father and one of them wanted to undergo this surgery and became a man.
His father suggested a gynecologist to the couple but the person avoided them because ‘contrary to nature’.
Then, his father advised them to move to a bigger city, after they went to Mumbai.
The actor revealed that they managed to do surgery and now they have been married for the last 20-25 years.
Ayushmann said that he knew about the trans community when he was 13 years old.
It was a big induction for him.
His father also did not realize that there would be surgery and it would succeed.
The incident was an eye opening for him that this community exists.
