Vijayawada: The seven-month-old baby girl allegedly kidnapped, raped and left by the roadside in Macherla Mandal Bodanampadu Village in the Guntur district.
The incident occurred during Wee hours Tuesday.
Family members find babies and tell the police.
According to the Inspector of the Circle of Rural Macherla Bhaktavatchala Reddy, around 2am, the mother of the child woke up to find the baby lost from his cradle.
Both parents started their search for children and after three hours they found a baby who was injured in an unconscious state with bushes, 100 meters from their home.
The police said the baby suffered an injury on his lips and his personal parts and heavy bleeding.
They sent children to the Guntur Government General Hospital (GGH) for treatment and medical examination.
The police said family members suspected a young man in the village who had a financial dispute with the baby’s father had committed a violation.
“At the moment, we haven’t confirmed whether the baby is attacked sexually, and the results will come out tomorrow.
But we did register a case on charges of attempted murder, rape and under the protection section of the relevant children from the Sexual Act (Pocso), 2012 , “Reddy said.
Further investigation was underway and two police teams have launched the search for suspects.
