Baby dies a day after getting the DPT vaccine

Hazaribag: The eight-month-old boy from Luto Village is under the boundary of the Katkamdagia police station here allegedly died the day after receiving a DPT vaccine shot at a holding center here.
Rameshwar Rana, the baby’s father, in his complaint to the police Katkamdagag, claimed that his son was given a vaccine shot DPT on 4.
The next day, his condition deteriorated and he died while heading towards Hazaribag Medical College and Hospital.
Rana complained that her child died of medical negligence.
The DPT vaccine is given to prevent diphtheria among newborns and adolescents.
Civil Surgery Hazaribag Dr S S P Singh said ANM, which was identified as Sunita Kumari who managed the vaccine, has been suspended with direct effects based on the complaints of negligence when the investigation has been ordered in the incident.
Death triggered anger protest by the local residents on December 6 Singh was a medical panel below Dr.
Yogendra Choudhary, who visited Luto to gather evidence for the investigation.
The team has been directed to submit its report to a civil surgeon.
