Mumbai: More than 4.16 class VIII to XII students in the Rural Maharashtra attending physical schools as offline classes began on Thursday, a month after the new academic year began.
There are no schools in villages in the Mumbai Metropolitan region (MMR) conducted by physical classes.
The numbers released by the state show that 5,947 schools in 25 of the 35 districts were reopened on Thursday.
Kolhapur saw a maximum presence with 1,55,784 students in 940 schools on Thursday.
In Nanded, 51,115 students attended 384 schools.
Yavatmal sees 27,610 students in 502 schools.
In Aurangabad, 631 schools welcome 21,599 students.
At Pune, 90 schools opened their gate to 3,505 students.

Schools in rural areas must follow standard operating procedures, including one student per bench, mask, social distance, 15-20 class students, no more than three to four school hours every day.
