Bhubaneswar: Mausin Nigar and Swati Kumari, the two engineering students, have a sharp interest in robotics.
But a little they know one day will open the door for the world.
Naushin and Swati have recently won gold in Indiaskills-2021 in the integration of the robot system and now wants to represent India in the world skill competition in Shanghai in October.
“I decided to participate in the robotics competition because it became an electronic student.
I want to learn more about new technology,” said Nigar, third year electronic engineering students and telecommunications students of CV Raman Global University (CVRGU).
At present, Nausin and Swati are preparing six to seven hours every day, regardless of their regular classes and studies, for global competition.
Praveen Giri, who won gold in Indiaskills in water technology, also tried 10 to 12 hours a day to make it to the Shanghai event.
“The river water will be a waste and pollution is a problem that is very disturbing to me.
I feel the solution can be found through automation and start working towards it,” said Praveen, a CVRGU third year mechanical engineering student.
Like them, seven other gold medal winners and 18 silver medalists from the country worked hard.
A competition will be held from the winner of the medal before the final team was chosen for the Shanghai event.
They will be trained by the National Will Development Corporation (NSDC).
Odisha pocketed 37 medals, including nine bronze medals, and 14 of the highest medals among the team participating in Indiaskills-2021 held by the NSDC in New Delhi earlier this month.
At the last event in 2018, Odisha was finished second behind Maharashtra.
Achievements have been possible because of the plans to be well thought out by the state government and its careful implementation over the past six years.
At the top of the leadership is the authority of the development of Odisha skills that work to change the Istis Odisha, improve the development of short-term skills, establishing a world skill center and aggressively encouraged to participate in world skills competition.
As a result, returned with the first gold medal for India from world skill competition in Kazan, Russia in 2019.
Odisha’s latest performances in Indiaskills are the result of two years of hard work even though there are obstacles caused by pandemics.
“We are now working on a 234 mission for the world skill competition that will be held in Shanghai.
This means 2 gold medals, 3 silver and 4 bronze, substantive leap in our ambitions,” said Subroto Bagchi, Chairperson, Odisha skills development authority.
The Indian contingent, which will have the highest number of participants from Odisha, will now accept the highest coaching level with the state and central government.
“Every participant has been prepared with a crying battle,” Shanghai in my mind, India in my heart, “Bagchi said.
