Backup seats in IITS, IISCS for Government School Students: MDMK

Coimbatore: Young Ministers of Education and Young Wings Marumalachi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) V Easwaran has launched a signature campaign that urges the central government to take steps to order seats for government school students in central government institutions such as IIT, IIT, IISC and AIIMS.
“Students who faint from such institutions have a better job prospect.
They get leadership positions in multinational companies.
But government school students from rural areas do not get to the institution,” said Easwaran.
Easwaran said that IIT Madras refused to reveal the number of government school students who joined the institution in the past decade.
“RTI’s request revealed that they did not preserve the details like that,” he said.
“The Ministry of Education must conduct a survey to ensure how many students from the government school join these institutions.” TNN.
