Coimbatore: The city has slumped to the worst Swayachh Survekshan survey rating, down to 46 of 16 in 2018, between 48 cities with a population of more than 10 lakh.
The civic body only obtained 2308.41 points from 6,000.
Acts Rating Three Parameters – Progress of the Service Level (Efficiency in Solid Waste Management), Certification (Waste Free City) and Voice of Citizens.
Coimbatore secured 1,079.98 from 2,400 points in service level progress, 928.43 in the vote of citizens and 300 in certification.
“While the city gets good grades in the citizen’s voice category, found a lack of certification,” Sunkara King Gopal Sunkara corporate commissioner said.

In other cities in Tamil Nadu, Chennai secured 43rd rank with a score of 2,781.
Madurai was in the 47th with a score of 2,207.
The corporation has received guidance for ranking the following year, Sunkara said.
“The neutral team will examine the city environment between January and March next year and map plans to increase the next rank.
We want residents to support us in the separation of waste and disposal,” he added.
