DEHRADUN: The Rishikesh-Badrinath National Highway (NH-58) once again got blocked on Tuesday morning after a landslide occurred near Baba Ashram at Karnaprayag in Chamoli district, putting a halt to traffic movement.
Personnel from agencies and departments concerned were pressed into service to clear the debris and restore traffic movement, said a disaster management department official.
Meanwhile, the Karnaprayag-Gwaldam National Highway was opened for traffic movement on Tuesday.
The Rishikesh-Kedarnath National Highway was opened for traffic till Gaurikund.
Over 150 roads, mainly village link roads, remained out of bounds for the third consecutive day.
Authorities have stepped up efforts to open these.
In Pauri district, at least 64 link roads and one state highway is blocked, while 18 village roads in Champawat, 62 village link roads in Chamoli, six roads in Nainital district, 15 link roads in Almora, 14 in Tehri Garhwal, six border roads and 13 village roads in Pithoragarh district and 10 village roads and one state highway in Rudraprayag are blocked, according to the State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC).
Meanwhile, rain has subsided in the state.
There is dry weather in most places.
