Ludhiana: Head of Lok Insaaf and Mla Simarjit Singh Bains have been ordered for allegedly raping a 44-year-old woman.
Six others, including his brothers, Karamjit Singh and Paramjit Singh Pamma, have been booked for a criminal conspiracy.
FIR was filed on July 10, but Ludhiana police kept it under the wrap until Monday.
It was registered with the orders of the local court issued on July 7, stating that criminal cases must be submitted without further delay.
The defendant has been identified as Atam Nagar Mla Simarjit Singh Bains, his brothers, Karamjit Singh Pamma; Workers, Baljinder Kaur, Jasbir Kaur Bhabhi and Sukhchain Singh; and Pa Gopi Sharma.
FIR was submitted below Section 376 (rape), 354 (sexual abuse), 354-B (sexual violence), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) from IPC.
The complainant, he was suspected of being raped by Bains several times between April and October last year and he had filed a complaint against him and his accomplices on November 16 with Police Commissioner Rakesh Agarwal, after the probe was marked.
The woman also approached Punjab and Haryana High Court, where this case was still delayed.
The woman stated that after her husband’s death, bank officials began to harass them because he could not pay the emis of their home loans.
In April 2019 during the Lok Sabha Election campaign, he met Simarjit Singh Bains, who advised him to sell a house.
Bains also contacted a broker, Sukhchain Singh, who sold the house, he said, adding that the broker gave him Rs 4.5 Lakh and made him plan in Jassowal Village.
However, he wants money so he asks for a broker to sell the plot too.
He said when the broker gave him a lower number, he asked the Bains to intervene.
Bains asked him to come to his office, where he raped him in his cabin and asked him to continue to keep his physical relationship with him, he accused, adding that then the Bains called a broker and asked him to give him the money.
The woman accused her when she met a broker for money, she also pressed her to have a physical relationship with the Bains to get more money.
After that, MLA continued to call him in his office and the house of a woman’s lip worker, Jasbir Kaur Bhabhi, and raped him several times, he said.
The woman stated that the younger brother of MLA Karamjit Bains also sent him obscene message and threatened him.
He said Pa Gopi Sharma threatened his father to attract complaints.
Division 6 Sho Inspector Amandeep Singh Brar said the police had registered a case in the direction of the court.
Despite several attempts, the MLA bains cannot be contacted for his statement.
