Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government on Monday issued a new direction ahead of Bakrid, forbid more than 50 meetings in every place to celebrate the festival, considering the Pandemic Covid-19.
The government also issued orders for animal sacrifices in public places in the state.
Charing a meeting with senior officials to review the Covid-19 situation in Uttar Pradesh, Head Ninister Yogi Adityanath directed them to make all the necessary settings remember the festival, the official spokesman said said.
Given Covid, no more than 50 people must gather anywhere at a certain time for any event related to Bakrid, the official said.
It must also be ascertained that no cows, camels or other illegal animals are sacrificed anywhere.
Only a designated place or a private place that must be used for animal sacrifice, he said.
Special care must be taken for cleanliness, the official was added.
This festival is scheduled to be celebrated this weekend.
